Morrisons Help Vulnerable and Elderly People in Times of Crisis
Customers who want to place an order should call 0345 611 6111 and choose option five.
This is one of several measures introduced in response to the coronavirus pandemic to ensure no customer is left behind. Mymorri has received many calls from self-isolating consumers, the elderly or vulnerable, who cannot visit a store. Some are running out of food and worried about how to get supplies, as demand for home deliveries is high. Some have never ordered online before.
These customers can place orders with Morrisons over the phone. A store associate, usually the store’s Community Champion, who is responsible for supporting the community, will deliver your order from your local store the next day.
You can:
You can choose from a carry-away menu of 47 essential items: milk, butter, eggs, potatoes, pasta, bananas, cornflakes, and flour.
Pay for delivery to your door using your chip and PIN-enabled mobile device.
If you wish, you can refuse an item at delivery time. However, we will do our utmost to accommodate your wishes.
David Potts, Chief Executive of Morrisons, said: “We are doing everything we can to feed the nation and ensure those who need it most can receive a delivery from a familiar Morrisons face. This new phone service will enable more homebound people to have their food delivered to their door. Anyone who shops from home can have their groceries delivered.
In addition, Morrisons Community Champions identifies customers who need help and offers it as a postcard sent to their homes. Customers can call them directly if they need their groceries delivered.
Vulnerable and elderly customers visiting stores can also be supported by colleagues wearing “Love to Help” t-shirts.
Morrisons has invested in a delivery van for each of its 494 stores to support this new service, allowing staff to deliver customers’ shopping straight to their door.
